The students of M class were new students who had just come to Japan within four months. Although they had experienced some small earthquakes, and noted that Niigata Tyuetsu earthquake nearby sea by mediums of News, TV and something like that, until now Tokyo hadn’t experienced big earthquakes. The main target of this activity was to let us experience conflagration simulates and accumulate experience by our school’s basic extracurricular education which is one experience in Tachikawa Disaster Defending Museum. We had took part in activities of practice of putting out a fire, escaping life and helping to cope with an emergency, simulating an earthquake fleeing for one's life, viewing documentary of earthquakes. At the beginning, we were afraid that we were only fond of plays and funs, and forgot the real aim of these activities. But it seemed no need to worry about that. One side, we were elated to take part in activities, and on other side, we carefully confirmed every small link. Especially by simulating an earthquake, we noted the importance of defending fire when earthquake occurred and ensuring exit for fleeing for life.
Japan is a country which has many earthquakes. Although this time it was only a simulation of experience, once we face emergency, we hope that we won’t forget knowledge and ability what we had learned today.
